Holiday (?)

Hi there.
I’ve just finished summarizing my English task, psychology lecture,
chapter 1.1.5 Evolutionary Psychology.
Bloody 16-minute lecture!!
That means that I still have another 84 lectures….(oh.. my.. God…)

*making a mental note to buy new headphone for listening to the lectures so that I don’t have to shush everyone at home…

In the end of the lecture, it explains Evolutionary Sexuality which elaborates the differences lying between genders and apparently, which applies in almost all species.
For instance,
why is female choosier than male?
why is male more promiscuous than female?
etc.

I myself have never viewed this matter from psychology or science perspective, and hence I find this lecture quite amusing.

It states the fact that male is more prolific than female,
that a man siring a baby by a woman, biologically is capable of siring a baby by another woman in the following day.
In the other hand, a woman’s effort consists of pregnancy plus several years of nursing.
(imagine that!)

It also claims the fact that female invests more than male in the offspring’s likelihood of survival.
Providing that a one-night stand may lead to a 18-year investment, no wonder if female is the chief of custodian in mating (HA HA HA)

Ok.
Enough about this pep talk
(is this even considered a pep talk, anyway?)

I finish reading Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows within one and half days *yeeaayy*
(and currently re-reading it)

J.K. Rowling really knows how to make such an awestruck ending.
It’s a bit sad though, knowing that never would I wait for the next book anymore..
Huuuu…

I still have… mmm...lemme see…
Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris (stuck in chapter 4)
The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by I-forget-who (stuck in…. chapter 6?)
The Time Traveler’s Wife by I-also-forget-who
which is a waste of 22 sin$ since it slipped my mind that my dede already bought this book LAST CHRISTMAS!!!

And I plan to bury my nose in dvd piles for the rest of my holiday
(I never get enough of dvd supplies!)

Dying of boredom…
*stomach cramp, ouch!*

***

I modified my blog lay-out about last week
How is it? nice? good.

And no.
I'm still an indoor kinda person
and I still prefer mountain to sea.

It's just that I ran into some wise words about taking risk and moving on
(and, no, I'm not in the post-heart-broken kinda period)

And it's just that I bought a poster (now it's settling comfortably on my desk)
saying
RISK: if you want to find a new land, be prepare to lose the sight of the sea shore

I've asked (and been asked) questions about moving on
(until what measure that I can claim 'I move on' ?)

Nonetheless, not once had I found a satisfying answer

But hitherto, I think that it's about the perseverance to sail away,
to find a new land
and preparing my heart to lose the sight of once-my-reliable sea shore

not that I resent the thought of seeing the sea shore again
but more of it-is-okay-if-I-do-not-get-the-chance-to-see-it-anymore kind of view

so,
sail away, anybody? :)
